🇺🇸🎶God bless America🎶🇺🇸 7/4/2022

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY Y'ALL!  I love America and have been hyping everyone up for it. There was a marathon this morning and Sister Durrant and I blasted patriotic music and cheered them on. We felt pretty cool

President and Sister Weathersby are officially home now. We were able to have a short meeting on Friday to meet the new mission president and wife. President and Sister "jedwards"  are SUPER cute and I can tell that we are going to be best friends.

I did something I never thought I would do. I mucked mini stallion stalls. Barf. Gag. It. Was. Awful!!! I love service but I was gagging the entire time. In the words of Elena (the daughter that helped us muck) "stinky butt" and I will stand by that

This week we met with so many of our friends. And we saw a lot of miracles come from it. One of which shared that she had lost A LOT of family members in the past year and it was so sad. But she felt comfortable opening up to us. We shared about the Atonement and now she wants to come to church with us.

Another thing we have been trying to do is visit all the members in he ward. Most of which don't want to talk to us haha....ha.... we knocked on this lady's door and mt first thought was she is going to chew us out. She didn't luckily but she invited us in and we had an amazing discussion about how Christ is the Light and the Life of the world.

Some highlights:

I got to have dinner with Kevin the legend .
Today is the 4th of July! Guys I'm so excited.
I got to feed a 180 lbs tortoise named Tucker
We got Chick-fil-A ice cream

I read an article this week about the 9th commandment. "Thou shalt not bear false witness." In this article it gives multiple examples of how this can come about. This paragraph stands out to me the most:

"We can also be guilty of bearing false witness and lying if we say nothing, particularly if we allow another to reach a wrong conclusion while we hold back information that would have led to a more accurate perception."  Stand up for what you believe in the same manner as Christ.

Talk about sadness. I have been dreading this for a while now. President and Sister Weathersby leave this week. I'm going to miss them so much. They have changed my life. We had a long long loooooong zone conference on Saturday. It was from 9am-5pm. But I had to he there at 8 because I was singing in a quartet.

We got to have "tea time" with Sister Berry and her 2 daughters. It was soooo cute. They had little treats. All I have to say is I will definitely be doing that with my future daughters.  Sister Kinikini made it home safe!! And we got to take her to the airport :) We took a picture at a cross walk because it took Pepboys 10,000 years to change our oil. We walked to Barnes and Noble, then to a park (that had no shade!), then to Panda Express and then back to Pepboys. It was a lot of walking in the hot sun.

The other day we were going to our car. We asked if the people across the street wanted a picture of Christ. They were like we have plenty...wanna see?? So this random couple welcomed us into their home. We proceeded to talk about the sacrament. Its nice to meet people that believe in Christ, even though we attend different churches.

We also talked to this dude earlier this week. I am absolutely amazed by Sister Durrant and Sister Kinikini. We talked to this guy about prophets and the priesthood. He kept interrupting and talking over us. It was really frustrating. Eventually Sister Kinikini just raised her hand and was like we respect your beliefs and we would ask that we receive the same respect. I was shook. She is so cool. And Sister Durrant was quoting scriptures while having the biggest smile on her face. I was so lucky to have that experience with them.

It makes me think of this quote I read in my personal study:  "We can also be guilty of bearing false witness and lying if we say nothing, particularly if we allow another to reach a wrong conclusion while we hold back information that would have led to a more accurate perception."

As we talked to our 2 friends we shared restored truths and didn't back down. We didn't want our friends to reach a different conclusion. Be aware of what truths you can testify of. They will come in small ways as you pray. Welcome to the work ;)

So my subject line comes from Sister Durrant. I was thinking of a question to ask this guy on Facebook and that was the question she came up with.

We were able to meet with our friend Colten. He is 9yo and loves the church. He really really REALLY wants to be baptized. We are working with him right now. And last night we invited him to pray about a day to be baptized!!

We had interviews with President Weathersby this week. My last one with him. He leaves next week. He gave me some amazing life advice. He really helped me understand that I am a daughter of God. That He loves me. I also made him a clay hat...Sadly I don't have a picture, but Pres Wes loved it #imhisfavoritenow

This week we were invited to youth conference. It was SOOOOO FUN!!! It was a great way for us to get to know the youth in the stake. I became best friends with so many of the youth. One of which was not a member. His name is William. He was sitting outside the Church and one of the leaders invited him inside. We sat and painted with him.
Long story short: he came back the next day and wants to take seminary!!

Welcome to the start of monsoon season. It rained a lot this week and it was so nice. The temperature was 64°at one point. Oh man it felt so nice!!

Not a lot happened this week. We did get Sister Kinikini this week. She is going home this week. She has such an amazing testimony of the gospel, and we are going to miss her

Yeah know...I'm convinced that missions are hard. I always thought that it was going to be sunshine and rainbows but... *ahem* I mistaken. I realized that from the first day out here. Everything is different and you are expected to learn a lot. But that's ok. Life is always going to be hard but God is good and God is always near by

Apparently Moser is an Auto Part 6/13/2022

Ya know....I never thought Moser was a hard name. I've been called Sister Mosser, Sister Morris, Sister Mosher. But coming into this ward, a guy was insistent that my last name sounded like a motor part. Thoughts??

It was so sad saying goodbye to people. You come into an area and learn to love everyone and everything. One of the hardest parts of missionary work is saying goodbye. On our way up, I was the only sister. It was very interesting. Every elder avoided me like the plague but I got to drive up with my favorite senior couple the Jacobsens. They are soooo funny. For example: Sister Jacobsen has an iPhone and Elder Jacobsen doesn't like them. He calls them Chinese as a joke. Let's just say I had to help them navigate the phone many times.

This is an example of their conversation:
Sis Jacobsen: call my phone Chinese one more time and I'll buy you an iPhone
Elder Jacobsen: Nooooooo! My phone works just fine
Sis Jacobsen: No it does not!!

It was THE funniest 4 hour drive of my life. Plus Sister Jacobsen called me her favorite multiple times. #highfivetome
But my new comp is Sister Durrant and she is the cutest!! She's from the Logan Utah area. Everyone told me she is a beast so I'm hyped for this transfer.

Yesterday, we went to our friend Annette's. She had a box full of packing peanuts. Thanks to Sister Crane, I told Sister Durrant and Annette that we could eat them. They did, but now they are cracking jokes about how they are going to die lol Don't worry mom, we are fine.

Kari's baptism was on Saturday. She is so cute, and I am so happy that I got to meet her. She's going to do wonderful things!!

This week I have studied about pornography and virtue. Its quite eye opening. I read a FIIIIIRRREEE talk by Elder Oaks where he talks about steps we can take to avoid those kind of situations. He talks about how the body when it has something revolting, it will just cause the body to throw up. Well, the brain can't do that. It will always be subject to recall. It was pretty wild. But an amazing talk. It helped me understand the importance of my thoughts. Not just my actions.

Oh Boy! 5/30/2022

Greetings from literally the hottest place ever. Jkjk I know its not the hottest but it sure feels that way.  This week we started with some conference and interviews. Its kind of crazy thinking that President and Sister Weathersby leave in a month :( They are doing one more with all the south zones before they leave. That will be SOOOO sad but I'm excited for the new president. Just like Pres always says "the only constant thing in life is change"

At zone conference I got to see all my favorite people. Sisters DeGroot, Long, Baxter, and Crane were there...all I needed was Hna Wells and Sister Brown to make it a complete reunion.

Some highlights:
-We might put our friend Francisco on date soon after our lesson this week
-I got to go on exchanges with Hermana Martin!
-We had 5 friends come to sacrament solely in the 5th ward
-And we found 6 new people to teach
-Our friend Emad attending all 3 sacrament meetings that go to our building
-We met with Coach Mac and had lunch with him at a delicious burger joint
-We went to our bishop's son's baptism
-I spoke in the 5th ward yesterday which was an adventure. I had started it earlier in the week, but classic me put it off until Saturday night. I was still writing it on our way to ward council at 7:30am but hey it went well!!
-We had a phone call lesson with Gilbert and our ward mission leader was on the call. It was hilarious. We had to mute ourselves the entire time because our ward mission leader would go "oh boy" after everything Gilbert said.

We were talking to Emad outside the chapel and a member comes out and goes "sisters, your friend is here." We were like "yeah Emad. He's pretty cool." The member was like "uh...no a different guy. Says he is from Sunland Park...?" We looked at each other very confused and then walked in to find this friend. Well it was our new friend Jeremy!! He actually came!!! And he liked it. He did say that he didn't want to be baptized though....but hey... he liked sacrament.

The Lord really is hastening His work. I see it time and time again out here. The weeks where it seems we have nothing planned are the days when God places people in our path. He's so cool!! #BFFs

Wait for iiiiiiiiiiiitttttt 6/6/2022

This week was FIIIIIIIRRRRREEEE (like my favorite boy band says).  We have had some amazing miracles happen this week. The ward council was  fasting for us throughout the week and that definitely helped. #blessings

We were able to meet with so many of our friends, and now 2 of them are on date:
•We taught Wendy about the Word of Wisdom and Law of Chastity and she accepted them both. It is amazing how the Lord has prepared her for baptism. She is on date for July 16th.
•Rick actually came from our ZLs. They realized that the person they were teaching was not as fluent in Spanish, so they passed him off to us. We had a lesson about fasting, and now he is on date for July 2nd :)

We were able to give Francisco a soft baptismal invite. Soft because he will not come to church yet.

We have been talking to our friend Jeremy and he loves coming to church. He has some crazy questions...about Cain. I literally don't know anything but luckily his fellowship was able to answer his questions.

Speaking of which, our mission has a goal of having 60% member present lessons. We have been killing it. Most of our lessons have been member present lessons.

Now this week was transfers and your girl is going back to ABQ!! But I'll be on the west side. Still excited!! I'm off to Rio Rancho and will be with Sister Durrant on Wednesday night.

Today is a short email because I am frantically packing lol. Never thought that I would be moving again.

Also...bragging moment:
My daughter is the new STLT- I love you Sister DG! You're going to kill it!

The spirit vs Mental Blocks 5/23/2022

This week we started off with zoom zone conference and I'm ready. Gonna hit the ground running...maybe a fast walk because I don't run. But it was amazing! The spirit was so strong!!

Our friend Wendy had to go to the hospital a couple days ago. She's ok, but it was scary there for a hot minute. We had to call 911. Never thought I would be able to say that I have called 911 twice on my mission. The crazy thing is we were on the line for literally eternity!!! For at least 6 minutes.

We taught CTR 4 yesterday and it was so fun!! We hid a Book of Mormon and the kids were looking for forever. Keep in mind that there aren't any hiding places in this room...they were very confused. They checked the trash can at least 6 times lol. This also meant I went to singing time. I want to go to primary every week. Adult classes are boring.

Our friend Elizabeth has been struggling, but we are in consistent contact with her now!! We are slowly working with her.

Emad is still loving church. We are going through the lessons even slower now so he can understand.

We have started doing social media training for our member messages and it was so cool! The first time we did it it was a last minute decision and it was an answer to the member's prayer

Then we did a roleplay at a member's house yesterday and they started crying. They looked at each other and said "it looks like we need to have this young man over for dinner." Its amazing to witness the spirit touching other people's lives.

I've been reading in the Isaiah chapters. Couldn't tell ya what I read BUT that’s ok. Elder Packer says, "You, too, may be tempted to stop there, but do not do it! Do not stop reading! Move forward through those difficult-to-understand chapters of Old Testament prophecy, even if you understand very little of it. Move on, if all you do is skim and merely glean an impression here and there. Move on, if all you do is look at the words." This is just like life. Keep pushing forward even if you don't understand everything.

P.s. I played kickball today and didn't get out first kick for at least 4 rounds. And I made a soccer goal today. It was pretty cool!
How I know God loves me.
