We had 70+ people at our house for lunch, mostly family, but also 3 missionary 

companions, a sibling, and a friend.

We had pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad/chips, green salad, and (mostly) brownies.

These past 18 months have blown me away. From tears and fears to conversion.  How do I even begin to sum it all up???

A year ago this Wednesday, I flew out to the amazing New Mexico Albuquerque mission. I was so nervous for my future and wasn't sure what I had gotten myself into. It was a bit of trainwreck, but hey, I made it!!

I really came to love this work and the people that I got to serve around. I came to love the Book of Mormon. I came to love prophets and revelation. Most importantly, I came to love my Savior. I came to love it all. 

We met with Sis Castillo. She is a less active that we have been working with. We have stressed the importance of the sacrament over and over and over again. For a second, we were going to give it a break. She didn't come to church on Sunday, but she did say that she doesn't want to go to her husband's church anymore!! She is going to work on coming back to church. 

We met with Marisela. It was so sad because the spirit was not there. We decided to do a DTR (define the relationship). It hurt telling her that we had to stop meeting with her or at least not having consistent lessons. She took it pretty well. But it was still sad. 

Thanks to everyone on this weekly. I appreciate you joining me for the ride.  My homecoming will be the 23rd at 10:30. 

"No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing." I am so honored for the 18 months that I have been able to serve my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has lead me every step of the way. I wouldn't change these experiences for anything. He has given me a front row seat to this work. That is how much he trusts me. And you. And everyone. We all get to partake in this work. 

My siblings have all talked about how much they came to love the people on their missions. I never understood that until now. I had a companion that said that leaving her mission was the hardest thing God could ask of her. I never understood that either until now. 

The title this week comes from In Christ Alone.  On our way to church I started crying. It was a tender experience hearing that.

General conference was AMAZING!!! I'm on a spiritual high right now!! I had so many answers to my questions #blessed A couple hit home for me. I know for sure what God wants me to be doing. 

Another highlight from this week was getting to go to the temple. This was the first time that I have gone through without a headache so I learned a lot. It was really fun getting to be in the ABQ temple before I leave :( but we won't talk about that...

We had an amazing experience this week. Sometime last transfer, Sis Fronk and I talked to a lady named Samantha. She was kind of interested, but not really. Well, she met other missionaries and they were able to get her info!! We were walking in her apartment complex and all 3 of us got a prompting to go visit her. When we arrived, she said that we had arrived at the perfect time and that she was having a rough day. I was able to testify of the spirit and how we all received a prompting to visit her. She was taken back by that, but you could tell that the spirit was there. 

We have been having a lot of traffic in preparation for balloon fiesta. Every single person and their dog are here. But its amazing!! We got to go this morning and collect the balloon cards. I also got to help set up 2 balloons.

After conference, we met with our friends Louie and Isabelle. After listening to the prophet being bold, I was not going to back away from testifying. It was bold for sure, but we'll see what they think later this week when we meet with them. 

This week I read an amazing AMAZING talk. It was all about repentance. Boy I thought I understood that. Ha. I did not. It made my personal study sooo much better. Give it a read and let me know what you think. Thanks, Dad for recommending it.   The Meaning of Repentance

Its only Sis Oswald's 3rd week in the mission and she has already experienced:

- a guy singing to us over the phone

- a guy with no pants on

- a homeless man walking like a zombie

- too many lessons where the Spirit has just left 

The last point is sad, but we had some lessons where our friends would talk about something and you could literally feel the Spirit leave. It was so sad. When PMG talks about you being sad because you desire their salvation....yeah I know what that means/feels like now. 

So the title of my email...long story short, we had talked to a guy for about an hour. We offered him one of our Funfetti waffles, and he accepted. And asked for the chocolate frosting. lol When we asked his name, he goes "Secret Agent Newburn" and lifts his suit jacket enough for us to see his FBI badge. He said he was here in ABQ for a case. We were shook.

I have been reading about Alma and Amulek and I just LOOOOVE them. They are amazing missionaries. It has always been hard for me to read about them watching the women and children die. I have always thought that they had to watch their own families die. But literally in the next chapter it says that they relayed all of this to their wives and children. DUH Sister Moser. It has been staring at you in the face. Where have you been?? It has only taken 6 times of reading the Book of Mormon for that to stick out to me. Keep reading. Keep persevering. There is worth in the scriptures every time you read them.

This week Neil L. Andersen came to our mission. And naturally everything that we experienced was definitely because a special witness of the Lord was coming to speak to us. Talk about a relief. AND we only have 12 days until conference!! I hope you are all writing down questions! He came and talked to us about our lives. He invited us to memorize 5 scriptures from the New Testament and Book of Mormon that we TRULY believe. I'm going to invite all of you to do the same. Email me with the ones you want to memorize!!

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10....wait 9/26/2022

The title of my weekly came from me...yep. I forgot the number 9. That's what happens when you spend ALL DAY at the chapel. It was kind of embarrassing. 

I found out that the temple is closing from Oct. 1-15. I was a little worried because it is tradition that you go and do an endowment session before you leave. We got everything figured out and I get to go to the temple this week!!! You know what else is this week???

GENERAL CONFERENCE!!!!! I am so excited you guys. General conference is like my favorite holiday. And what better way to prepare for it than to go to the temple.

We did service this week in preparation for BALLOON FIESTA!!! It also starts on Saturday. Be prepared for a lot of balloon pics next week. But most importantly....General conference obvi.

We had 3 friends come to church!!! It was so exciting to see them there. Some returning members came as well. It makes me so happy to know that our friends were able to partake of the blessings of the sacrament. 

I have been stressed this whole week. It was like everything that could possibly go wrong, went wrong. And that's still happening. And its hard coping with that on a mission. The normal things I used to help myself cope are not available. It has made things very interesting. The most comforting thing has been my mission president telling me that everything will work out. Trust God. That has been my motivating factor this week. God is mindful of His people and everything will work out.

What Holiday is Next, Sis Moser?? 9/12/2022

For 9/11 our stake had a crap ton of service opportunities. We weeded an entire cemetery. It was hecka dry and all of us had some really bad allergic reactions and allergies because of it. But it felt good to get out and help. 

Our friend James felt the Spirit!!! This is huge for him!! And of course it all happened while I was on exchanges. But he called us back one time and told us that he really appreciated us. It was so nice.

Our other friend, Christina, called us and wanted to know more about the end of the world. I feel like most of the churches down here would preach out of revelations and make it sound scary. It opened the way for us to tell her about the plan of salvation. Then she asked the golden question: what is the Book of Mormon? I kid you not, angels sang. Long story short , we are meeting with her again and will be talking about it. 

We had an amazing lesson with our friend, Jesse. The spirit was so strong. We testified of Christ and how prayer is powerful. If he drops us, imma cry. 

Sometimes...missions are hard. And the best thing to do is laugh. Here is a snippet from one of our discussions with zero context: "At least androids don't segregate"

An elder made an amazing point this week. I have read the new testament but I'm definitely not a scholar on it. If people we can talk to have only read the Bible and we can maintain a gospel discussion....that just shows that the Book of Mormon and Bible are similar. That was a powerful statement made by Elder George. Remember that God brought the Book of Mormon to us for a reason so make sure you are using it.
